CGA 2014 Cross Country Update


Central Gauteng Athletics Cross Country season started on a high note on the 7 May 2014 in the first Cross Country league hosted by RAC at Delta Park. CGA congratulates RAC on the job well done in hosting the league and to all the athletes that supported, thank you.  

The next league event will be in Chris Hani Sports Complex in Orange Farm on the 7 June 2014.

Announcement CGA Team, SA Youth & Junior Championships 2014


We would like to congratulate all athletes from your club who are selected to represent the province at the South Africa Sub Youth, Youth, Junior, Under 23 Championships to be held from the 3 to 5 April 2014 in Stellenbosch.

The team meeting will be held on Monday 24 March 2014 at Germiston Stadium CGA Board Room at 17h00 to give final team arrangements. We would appreciate if you could advice the selected athletes accordingly and revert back to our office with vest and track suit sizes (only athletes that were not selected for CGA teams in the past 3 years will get clothing). 

Herewith please find the attached CGA Team list, ASA Qualifying Standards for 2014 Championshipsand Provisional Program for the 2014 Championships.

CGA Track And Field Provincial Championships Dates

Track and Field Prov Champs 2014

Central Gauteng Athletics, will be hosting the provincial Track and Field championships on the 15 of March 2014 at Germiston Stadium in preparation for the National championships in April 2014. 

The commission has decided to host all the categories jointly at the province championships.


Commonwealth Games Queens Baton Relay

Central Gauteng Athletics was proud to partner with Ekurhuleni Municipality in the invitation to be part of the profligate Commonwealth Games Queens Baton Relay which commenced from the 10th-13thFebruary 2014. The Queens Baton made its way to South Africa for the second time and this whole initiative was to build awareness in the various communities about the Commonwealth Games that will be taking place from the 23 July 2014 in Glasgow Scotland. The commonwealth baton will make its way to all the commonwealth affiliating countries before going to the Queen in Scotland.
