Read MoreCentral Gauteng Athletics will be hosting the Yellow Pages Youth, Junior, Under 23 and Schools Track and Field Championships at Germiston Stadium, City of Ekurhuleni from the 29 till 31 March 2012.
This history making athletics event will be the 17 Athletics SA provinces and the 9 South African Schools Athletics province competing in one event. In the past the two would competed separately and it caused confusion, for example having 2 SA Champions for one event.
This is the one of platforms to expose our talented young Athletes against the best in the track and field events.
The meeting will start at 06:30am and the last event expected to be at 20:30 pm for all 3 days.
The mayor of Ekurhuleni, Clr. Mondli Gungubele is set to officially welcome and open the championships. Details of the welcome and opening ceremony will be communicated at a later stage.
The programme has amongst the list of events the following:
• 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m SC and 5000m (All Age Groups)
• 100m H, 110m H, 400m H (All Age Groups )
• Shot Put, Hammer Throw, Pole Vault, Triple Jump, High Jump, Discus, Javelin, long Jump (All Age Groups)
• 4 X 100m Relays ( All Age Groups)
Gates will be open from 05:00 in the morning. Entry fee are as follows:
Adults: R 25.00 per day and Children: R15.00 per day
Secured parking will be available at R 5.00 per ticket
